BTW, Jon informs me that my Davis was one of the first year production at their new Dayton OH factory. That's kind of a cool thing. Thanks for the info, Jon.

Yours doesn't have "Watertown, NY" on the slide?

    Jon is way cool... :)

Oh, there's something about a little, white Singer that just makes my heart skip a beat. What a cute machine!

Which reminds me, Janice...where do I get a handcrank for my "new" 66?
Hi! You can get one from Sew-Classic, if she has any in stock. I got mine off eBay for around $20, and it didn't have that funky Chinese decals on it. Then I had to buy the spoke wheel from Cathy at the TOGA. Does your already have the spoke wheel?
Yes, it does have a spoke wheel which is why I instantly knew my brother had "done good" and why I wasn't worried that it had been converted to electric. I immediately thought "handcrank"!

So the ones from Sew-Classic have funky Chinese decals on them?

Ha, ha! All dressed up and nowhere to go! Your machines have been restored nicely.

Depends where she gets them from. The last ones she had did have them, but other people have just painted over them with black Testors paint. Monica showed it to her husband, and he told her it says "Made in the People's Republic of China".

Ok...since our numbers are only about 5000 apart, mine must have been in the last run at Watertown, or was in the first run at Dayton, using parts leftover from Watertown...

Gets more interesting all the time! :)

Thanks, Cindy. We all are working on various machines with various "issues". They do come out looking pretty nice, don't they? It's one of the reasons this is such a great place...so much help for our projects!
