Do we have any members close by there? I would bid on it if there was someone close by.

Billy
Billy, if I were to pick up this machine and didn't want - and I probably don't as the cabinet looks like more work than I care to do, how on Earth would you get from Northwestern Michigan to Tennessee? My son is working in New Jersey now, so he's not driving to Alabama any more. He did swing by on his trip from Cinncinnati to NJ to mow my lawn. What a sweetheart.

I need to clean my Leader before I buy any more treadles. What do I use to loosen up the irons? They will move, but are very stiff.

did you see that it is only half price on ebay??? for that price I would throw in a cool stool and a monogrammer too or something.

What do you think?
Cool!! I don't have the $$$ right now.....someone in CA want it?
Poop, that looks interesting and my daughter will be in SLO this weekend. Alas, I really don't have the money or space either. Especially, since I know nothing about treadles!!

Is there anything I need to know about her? BTW her name is Julie, after the owner's mom, and also my GGM.

Cute machine!

I went over to a friends house and she showed me her pre 1900 White Treadle. The hand wheel turned freely and the irons moved easily. Her needle bar did not move. Any idea on what the problem could be or how to fix it. Kathie

Hum, Just one sewing machine?!

My Singer 201 in treadle - parts are easy to find, it sews a beautiful stitch top and bottom, the quietest machine I have ever sewn with, treadles quiet too, can quilt with it, piece with it, sew clothes, and I love the classic look of it.

Now if you ask because you are looking for just one machine, I say go for a Singer 401(e-machine) if you don't wish to treadle a machine. It's a nice machine with a pretty stitch ( almost equal to the 201's stitch) that also does some cute decorative stitching. I prefer treadles, but I do like my Singer 401.

But I plan on keeping all my machines, like forever. :)
