We did our trip to Cantril today with the petite neighbor, PattyW. ..enjoyed every minute of it found some fabric...not much and came home in time to have more company... My classmates from High School came to check out the scene for the BBQ this fall...will wait to see how many reply that they are coming down for it here. PattyW did ot find all she was looking for, so we raided my QR and found it there. Plus a big piece of chocolate cake to take home with her.

Verry tired, so I am eating supper: a big piece of cake and a glass of vanilla malt shake. Balance out the sugar energy to clean up the spring cleaning I started this morning...in my closet that is on my bed now. Looking to see where I can pile it up for the night...yep, earn my 'pilot's license' one more time. LOL!

I have been busy. One o' the things DH & I did was ta buy a screen door. We had ta cut it down by a half an inch. Well DH slipped so we had a large gouge in it. Bought & used some wood-filler ta fix it before we paint it. Taday we put 2 coats o' paint on one side. I want 3 screen doors but we will do one at a time.

Being raised on the farm with a screen door that slammed shut, I welcomed that sound here...like back on the farm again. Love the memories and the sound of it slamming of it here. We painted it to match our steel roof...red.

Guess everyone is busy having a good time; too busy to drop by and say, "Hi!" here. May the days be good to you. Going into Spring Cleaning mode here...busy times.

I have been very busy with Dr appts.. Had three of them yesterday and have 2 next week..then to AC for a visit with my 2 sisters for our Birthdays next week. My older sister will be 78 on the 20th and I'll be 75 on the 16th.. All three of us will be in adjoining rooms at the Taj Mahal in AC for 3 days..I'm bringing my little machine & knitting..I'm not that much of a gambler. slots mabybe and go out to eat..They are having a lot of freebies, tournaments & dinners... It seems the older I get the busier I seem to be...but...don't get very much done...
Checked out a little Brother machine..bobbin winder doesn't work..took the machine apart and can see what the problem is but I'm not equipped to fix it..It's computerized so I don't want to mess with the connections in order to separate the machine... so the bobbbins will have to wind on another machine...has an extension table and it sews very nice. I also managed to get a Singer 185 that is filthy but it runs and needs some TLC & oiling. I might do that today after I go to the store.. That makes 4 Green 185's that I have...I have to sell 3 of them..I have to check to see what they are going for on Ebay...
    Have a good day all..H.

We are leaving Arizona today and heading back to California. We have a RV Rally starting Sunday, so will not be home until Thursday. Have a great week everyone.

JeanieG, its good to know you are leaving AZ before it gets *hot* there.

Happy Birthday, Honchey, in advance since you will be in AC then. One guy I used to know came home with pockets full of money every summer there. Never got the gambling fever to even try it. Never wanted to see Vegas, either.

Wonderful house cleaning and finding the quilting projects I wanted to find...surprise!!! Sorted all the embroidery stuff out of my bedroom, too! And I pulled all lthe winter clothes from closet and put them in the quilt room closet. Will go through that and throw away later. Of course, found more 'bags' from various quilt shops; good canvas ones I can use at the Grocery Stores. Now to get my bed cleared before bedtime! LOL!

I just checked on the 185 on Singer's site...looks like a nice machine..I "lost" my 99 in a divorce...not mine, but DS...Ex-BIL was going to recondition it for me...never did and then the divorce...only paid $25 for it. But was looking forward to using it..
Elise begged me to finish her little mitten quilt...fused onto fabric, a border, then backing and filler finished with the birthing method. Used an old pant hanger as a hanger. She's ready to make more seasonal ones so guess she will be bugging me all summer. Sorry it went home before a pic could be taken..

Thanks for the Mother's day greetings...likewise to all you mothers. It will be a quiet day after the phone quits ringing from our far flung family. This year Abu Dhabi, Charlotte, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin......

    Happy Mother's Day!

We just got back from the National Archery Tournament in Louisville, KY. Left Thursday night and returned this afternoon. It was a good time. My dad and the three kids went, so it was a van full. Two of the three kids shot...my DS did pretty good, DD wasn't too happy with her score. It will be an early night for sure!

Carrie, your DD and DS did great; they both got to enter the Archery Tournament and that is great!

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day and got their phone calls they were expecting. Our children called me about the same time from NE and TX, so I had to call TX back after finishing the first call.

Cleaned out my closet and piled the paperwork in the big green chair...its still waiting for me...but not yelling at me yet. Found the two projects I was looking for and put both in to my QR. Have the borders for the garden trellis figured out; now to find the time to do them. Discovered some Jenny Beyer fabric I had forgotten about; delighted to see it...love it! Now to find the energy to be productive today....

Good morning..last night watched storm progress in western Iowa as I have lots of relatives in the affected area..no problems for any of them.
Getting to the national competition is a big achievement...congratulations to your two archers, Carrie..
Just got off the phone with my computer guy..monitor goes black..sounds like the backlight is going so will run into town for a new one later today..then grocery shop before guild meeting..so glad I have the Kindle for internet back up..
Saw one hummingbird at the feeder on Saturday..so far only one oriole..he was sitting and sipping then looked around as if to say, "where is everybody?" Last year I had six pair...Apple tree is in full bloom and not a cedar wax wing in site. It's the only time I see them, wonder where they went to this year?

I may head down and work in the sewing room..my current project is a quilter's basket for a 4-H fundraiser in June. I saw on Sew it with Nancy some quick fabric baskets. have a big and a small one made...ready quick to do. I'm filling the big one with sewn notions...pin cushion, a machine cover, a Mat to set the machine on, a needle case, a used needle case, and a few more items. One way to use up stash.......have a good one...

dublb, what a nice school record for DS#2.

Honchey, sorry we have to rep...not a happy thing but at least you can see what is wrong and what to do to fix it. Working on hot pads right now for Ronda's new apartment she is moving into....bright and colorful for her kitchen.

    Have a good day, everyone.

    Love that lady!!!

I cleaned my car yesterday then went to have the oil changed...I ripped out all the blocks there while waiting and then presented the threads to the cashier there wasn't a trash can in sight!
Today is senior day (20% off) at Joann's and I need some w/w fabric..I don't have enough yardage for the blocks I started...
I have a full day today..another Dr's apt, DH wants me to be home when the septic tank gets emptied, dash to joann's 20 miles away...make dinner for the kids tonite, pack my little bag for my adventure to AC with my sisters...
I haven't been this busy in I can't remember when No time for sewing today H.

LOL....strings handed over to receptionist...just a crazy old quilt lady you were.....
A lot accomplished....after guild meeting I sorted through 2 large shopping bags of scraps..Tuesday ran errands while waiting for Sam at play group and my computer..New monitor needed...went for the 23" one. I can see 2 programs at once..love it when I do bookwork...have ss and accounting program open at the same time. Of course had to reconnect every thing when I got home so am up and running again. Last night worked on an EQ project for LQS before I called it a day.
Today started out sorting cow records...I'm filing dead cow info in the dead cow notebooks while removing a couple of cow families we have no living family members. Kind of sad when that happens. I've got 4 big 3 ring blinders for the dead cows, 2 smaller ones for the current herd and 1 large one for the heifers. The cow production software we use doesn't retain archival information which is why I have the dead cow files. Our breed association has the info in their data base, but don't want to call them every time I need information on a cow family...I'm half way through the filing...took a 2 hour break and mowed half my lawn...Hope to finish off tomorrow..have some bookwork to do on Friday and have a farm visitor on Saturday..Will be here for lunch so if I am AWOL...that's why...do hope to share my baskets and a couple other things I've finished before the week's out....back to filing....

Leaving for AC in about 3 hours.. having my morning coffee right now..I'm bringing the knitting I started in NC and a Janet Evanovitch book for my down time...I'm not the gamblers the rest of my family are... I can walk away with no problem.. Bingo is another story Packing some snacks too! Had good reports from all the testing ..192 for Cholestrol & 116/70 for BP...Vitamin D level is still low after 3 mos of 2000/a day so now I'll be taking a prescription level once a week. Maybe that's why my nails are giving me a hard time??? Hmmm..
Have a good day all of you..H.

Good morning. Hope everyone is well and enjoying Spring (altho we missed spring and went right to 90* all last week). I'm trying to get all my projects finished up because we have some remodeling projects coming up and I won't be able to sew very much. Finished a mini quilt with houses & trees, 2 table runners for the B&B and made the QOTS mini blocks into a 91 block twin bed quilt. But of course with my QuiltersADD I started a new project of various size stars for a patriotic quilt. I've used nothing but scraps for blocks, only cut into yardage for sashing, borders & backings and my scrap box is still full!!

Enjoy your day, do something you love.

Good morning Our spring has been a funny one...hot one week and cold the next; 80 today, 60s this week until Thursday and up to 70. We put the boat in this weekend and took a ride Friday night and again yesterday before taking it out (rain was coming).

I made good progress in my sewing room last night...finished the borders on DDs graduation quilt, got the binding on and finished on a quilt that has been waiting a few months and started quilting a different quilt that has been sandwiched for a long time! DD's quilting will be next to be quilted. Here is a picture...fabrics are much brighter than in the picture.

Good morning....birds are singing...several Orioles in the treetops..May. have to refill the feeders today.. a couple more hummingbirds too. We've had plenty of moisture so frogs are creaking as well. Had a guest yesterday to look at cows...ended spending most of the day..that was okay as we hadn't seen him in years..a lot of catching up to do. I just didn't get some yard work done before the rain came. It looks like I can get some done this afternoon. Have some annuals I want to plant among other things.

Came, DD quilt has come along nicely....

Sounds like Teacher Beg will be busy this week good luck.

Have a good week...the usual here...bookwork, lawn mowing, DD here for memorial weekend so must get bedrooms. In order...I've been piling quilt stuff in the one....later...
