Awwww poor LilOkSGlad ... how disappointing for her to have her birthday party cancelled!
OKSGlad ... WoW ... you have some people with deep pockets! I loved the fun of these fundraisers ... people pay unrealistic prices to support the cause, and get a token item. And then there's the "challenge" of bidding someone up and making them pay dearly for something they really want! Now if you could only get those prices for all your minis, I bet you'd go into production. Have fun with your BBs ... I bet you have some really nice ones in the works.

I'm home again. We spend over 2 hours in hospital. According to the nurses they are very very sick tiny little ones but hanging in. My DS forgot to take his camera with him and one of the nurses told him never to forget it again. They should take lots and lots of pictures whenever they can because you never know what happens.
They're so tiny, you can't imagine. The picture with the nurse's hand? My DDIL said to me this nurse had small hands! So that puts it even more in perspective. My DS was allowed to help change Bram's diaper! He even could hold him in his hands for a very short moment. Watching Bram you can see he's breathing for short periods of time. Isa tried to open her eyes a few times and sometimes she really did. When you're talking to them they seem to get quiet, like they're listening and hear something familiar. I'm not allowed to touch them though which is ok with me. I would love to but I fully understand why not.
It's very clear to me I have to take my phone with me everywhere I go and be ready 24/7.
And on the bright side: I can make them little hats and small sheets to put their heads on. This way they have something of their own. My DDIL was very happy to hear that. So tomorrow I'm going to buy the softest fabric I can find and make those hats and sheets.
My DGS Mick picked two soft toys for Isa and Bram and he was very clear about which one was for Isa and which one for Bram. He points at their pictures and says: Isa, Bam! He's one little scared boy right now, afraid his mom and dad will leave again without telling him. Yesterday he didn't want to go to sleep as last week when he woke up my DDIL and DS weren't there anymore and he had no idea where they were and when they would be back.
QuiltE, I'm using the same block, Woven Ribbons from Quilter's Cache. I just pick different colours each time so it will be a scrappy, colourful quilt. At least I hope it will become quilts. I did the math: they are 14 weeks premature, one block a day makes two quilts 7 x 7 blocks, each block finishing at 12".

Clean up is done; wasn't quite as bad as it looked. Most of the dirt vacuumed up so I didn't have to use the steam cleaner; just spot cleaned. Very disheartening tho as showings have really picked up since the holidays are over and I was afraid we'd have to cancel the ones scheduled for next week. Everything is back to normal (who am I kidding???) Sorry about the whining.
Anael, thanks for keeping us surrogate grandmas updated. We're all with you and your family for this difficult journey.
Got part of the binding sewn down. I'm doing it by machine (I'm ignoring my analness) and it's fine from the front but I'm not real happy with the back but no one will see the back but me. It's for the bed in the spare room that no one sleeps in but me when MrJanRN is in the doghouse or snoring. Hopefully will finish and have pics tomorrow--yay me!!! Thanks all for the suggestions about the machine binding, so far so good.

Anael ... what a special visit and great news that you can make some hats and blankets for them! Definitely, keep that phone with you. How cute that Mick found toys for his little brother and sister! What a great plan you have to make those daily blocks and what memories to stitch into them.
JanRN ... glad that's over with. On the upside, I bet you;re glad it happened on the weekend and you could get it all fixed and dealt with before the showings! I have visions of you sewing til it was done tonight!

JanRN you will be the first to finish your quilt. I am sending mine to a longarmer in February, I have spoken to her and sent her photos and we have had lots of discussions on what I want. She just asked if I could send it in February so she would get her December quilts finished and get over the holidays, which was fine by me. I would love it to be finished by July when my club has its show and tell...
Anael yes they are tiny but they are proving every day that they are fighters, take lots of photos. Every night I say a prayer for them and your family to stay strong

Just got a message from my DDIL. Bram and Isa had a quiet night. Here's a pic of Bram on his belly with a pacifier Picture was taken last night while my DS was watching him on telebaby.

Just saw this recipe and thought of QNSue's quest to diminish her egg stash!
Looks like an easy way to serve up breakfast ......... or breakfast for dinner.
