QE--how's your binding coming along?
mercysland--good to see you again. Hope you are feeling well and able to get a little sewing done.
QNS--looks like a lot of fun stuff you got during your shop hop.
Anael--so happy to hear about Isa
OK--re: Iowa fabric...we are sold out where I work and also at the shop a few blocks away. I know the owner at the Amanas shop (Heritage) bought several bolts since she is in a touristy area. Hopefully you can get some close to home.
Janie--those are some nice flower pictures and GSs too!
Jeanie--have fun on your camping trip even if your house isn't moving along the way you want.
I decided to finish a UFO I'd started a while back before quilting the airplane quilt...I got an idea for the border and then didn't want to wait to do it. I kept putting it off because I am doing a different method of QAYG and don't like it as much as the one I usually do. Anyways was coming along nicely until a little before 5 when I bumped my arm with the bottom part of my iron...at least it was my small iron.
After an hour of the swelling and redness and burning not going down DD drove me to the ER. The doctor said to expect the burn to blister. He gave me a medicated salve to put on it and told me to keep it clean and wrapped. The actual burn area is about 3" long and 1"wide. It is on the inside of my forearm so a tender spot and unfortunately one easily rubbed when moving around. It doesn't hurt right now...

Oh, Carrie, I am so sorry you burned yourself on your iron. Hope it feels better in the morning. We always used Watkins products and they have a Petro-Carbo first aid salve that I was raised with for burns....I burned myself on the oven shelf while baking cookies and applied it quickly. No blisters. I have always heard to leave burns open to the air...but thinking does change...DGM always applied it quickly and it never left any scars. DS always wants me to send him more and I laugh 'cause he is always on internet where he can find it! It heals from the inside out on cuts, too. An old farm trick, to use that salve on Cow's utters and cuts. ( Love their vanilla flavoring, too, in dark or light in cookies!)
Something broke into the open-door A frame last night and killed two of the juvenile roosters, and spooked the others tonight, they flew up in a tree to roost. Found all but one, and put them into the hen house to be safe. Lord, please guard the little one we could not find.

dublb I have been wondering if you had received your mystery block, I mailed it on the 18th of April. I hope it wasn't lost in any of the storms. I mailed to the address that Carrie suggested adding the last of the zip-code.

Janie, thanks for the flowers and the great picture of your GS's! One day I'll post a pic like that too Your Audrey is beautiful!
Carrie, I'm sorry you burnt yourself.
Jeanie, I'm sorry about the mess you're still in. I hope it will be back to normal very soon!
The weather is beautiful again so no quilting for me today!

QNS--I will check into getting some of that Petro-Salve. I think the "cover" direction is to help prevent infection, especially if blisters pop. I am to wrap "lightly" with gauze so air could still get to it. Hope your roosters all made it through the night.
Bev--yeah I have other scars, but none this big....one is on the same arm and got more red last night when the other was flaring up...today it is hardly noticeable...strange.
I really didn't want to go to the ER last night because I didn't think it was "that bad" but since it just kept getting more red around the area and had the burning feeling we decided it would be best to have it checked out. This morning it looks much better, the reddness surrounding is gone and so far no sign of blisters...I am thanking God for that! Just a little tender to the touch. I will keep it covered a couple days w/salve, but if no blisters probably won't continue to cover.

Janie...thanks for the beautiful pictures. Your DGSs look like they like to clown around for you. It's nice that you can be a regular part if their lives.
Jeanie...I'm rooting for you too. It wouldn't be so frustrating if you could only see some progress.
QNS....sorry about the "raider". Hope the rest grow to a proper skillet size.
Carrie....the laugh is on me. I have my threads set up so that the latest postings are page one so going back to my PC would be different than if the first page was the first page if the thread. Thanks for helping me out.
i too think it would be fun to do a mystery block for merciland. We would need to ask the same questions that Honchey asked us and set a date.
Dubib....you need to complain to your local post office. Lost mail doesn't happen by accident when it happens so often!
i'm making Italian Beef in the crockpot for a carry in tomorrow and didn't notice thwt I shouldn't use the juice from the giardiniera and it is SPICY. I'm going to remove some of the juice and add plain water and cook it some more today. It sure makes the house smell good. I took a lap quilt and put it on consignment yesterday. There is a big area flea market this weekend. They are charging $15 for tickets tonight to preview so I'm hoping it draws those with idle cash and a desire to part with it. Three projects going in the sewing room. Hummmmm....which one gets the most attention today?

GardenGAl, vinegar will take the 'spicy' taste down a bit and will not taste in the dish.
Good news, the 'chicken' left in the tree flew down with the flock this morning! Thank God!! As we catch the seven tonight, we will trim feathers on one wing, so they cannot fly up on the fence and into the orchard trees. All the others 'shook' down, but the one was higher or held on tighter....will add them back into the hen house tonight.
Hope everyone has a good day. GardenGal, I hope your quilt sells well...above what you expect...some people actually have learned to value quilts!!
Mercysland is a hand quilter; sorry I really don't hand quilt 'cause of my hands not working as they should in my 'senior years'...although I do have some good days...it might be fun.
