The Stylist, which is borderline vintage(about 1975) so I can post here is sewing more freely. I haven't found a way to drop the feed dogs, but I was able to FMQ with it by releasing the pressure on the presser foot. It did a nice job. I haven't sewn with the 301 today to see how she's doing.

Can you tell me anything about The Free treadle machine. I found one at an antique shop in a cabinet. both are in good condition. The only info I can remember without going back to the shop is the patent pending was 1902 and last one was 1913.

Everything you ever wanted to know about a 401...403...right here: http://blog.sew-classic.com/2008/10/...ne-review.aspx

There is a difference between the 401A and the 401G. The 401G, made in Germany, can be treadled! :D

I'm not into sodas. I like my coffee and teas; but for you, I'll bring some pepsi. You know that stuff is bad for ya.
