June 4th. It would be a blast meeting up with those in N. CA area that post here on this board too. The Treadlon group is the GoldCountryTOGA.[/quote]
They will be meeting about five miles from my house on the day I leave for my sewing cruise.
:-( They will be having another one in either Sept or Oct. I will be there with bells on. Kathie :)

All of the pictures I've seen they are either black or what I thought was a tan color.. yours is pink?
Too cute!!!
After buying DD4 a POS Singer plastic chainstitch machine for her b'day last week, I've decided that it's going back to the store.
Have you sewn on this one? I was thinking about finding one of these for her. (If they are indeed a viable option!)
The other option I was thinking was a handcrank. (...by converting my Great Grandmother's model 15 treadle head)

I now also have a 403 besides my 500A...both of which didn't come with anything besides the foot on the machine. I can now use the attachments from this machine for them? Anne

If all else fails, it has good top hats, throat plate, bobbin slide plate, motor & it has a good zig zag foot etc. Some of those parts will work on a 401, 403, 500 or 503 or maybe some of it will go on a 301...
The body of it probably has some aluminum in it and you probably can sell the manual on ebay...
I never did like those... does it show?

SO will the real Singer 631G please stand up.
It looks like a 600 variation of some sort to me. The 600s were still all metal. They just have the &*@#*$%!#)%*#)% Touch & Sew bobbin winder

I took it apart, cleaned it, looked for any stray thread that had gotten under the bobbin area, oiled it, and even took the top plate off and checked the upper tension mechanism. I feel so sorry for my neighbor since she doesn't sew, and she was using this dang piece of s.... to teach her daughter how to sew. And this was a machine that she picked up for free from a friend's mom that had been a seamstress. Makes me wonder if the seamstress ever used this machine. I wouldn't, but then I learned to sew on a Necchi Supernova. Eeks, I want to Touch and Throw this machine; not sew with it. Sorry for the rant.
So, for all of those that learned to sew on one of these s..... pieces of machinery, please treat yourself to a Featherweight or 201- those are excellent machines. Ok, I'm done for the night.

I do hope your machine works well for you! And you will be able to enjoy sewing with it for a very long time.
