Looks like a Frister and Rossman, and if the shuttle is there, it's well worth the price. I would jump at it--I love transverse shuttle machines. Extremely simple to use and work on.

I couldn't get in by going directly to the link, either. Try just going to treadleon.net and then scrolling down to the woodshop.
Glenn I tried on and off all day to go to this site and it is down or I just can't get in. Do you have to be a member of Treadleon to get in?

The Singer 48k looks pretty much like that, but is fairly rare in the US. More common is the Model 12 New Family. Both are transverse shuttle machines, and have needleplates that look like that. The difference between the two is basically that the 48 has a rectangular bed and the 12 has a fiddle bed.
With that needleplate, it looks more like a German made machine to me, altho I'd swear I saw a Singer recently that had a needleplate like that...I just can't remember where!
Either way, it dates to the late 1800s-very early 1900's...
GRAB IT!!

After sewing with the Singer 328 and the fact that I grew up sewing with the Necchi Supernova, I just have to laugh at this statement. Like right! A Mercedes!
If Mercedes Benz were making sewing machines in the early sixties they would be the Necchi Supernonova. Geez!

Thanks all you! It was fun to make and even more fun to decorate with my 503A. Of course my 2 1/2 year old grandson thinks it is pretty cool too, since he got to help with the stars!
