Does anyone know what this is? I am getting it this week for $15. Looks like a good restoration project. One of the pics shows the beginning of the serial number starting with C. Is this a 66 from 1908? Thanks for any feedback!
Very nice machine and yes it is a 66 Red Eye. My favorite machine.
Glenn
Thanks Glenn. So you don't think it is too far gone?

I am having a yard sale next weekend if the weather is OK, so will try to take some pictures after that. Then you will see the problem. And tell me to have another yard sale.

Yes people do look at us like we are nuts. Then say how many machines can you sew on at one time? I tell them DH oils them up and cleans them and I sew on them. I can sew on about 95 of them some are parts machines. They still think we are nuts. Then the next question is where do you put them all. We have them here and there but DH built a building to store them and built me a sewing studio and I will have five in there plus the ones not in a cabinet.
IF I had a basement, I would be in trouble. Instead of kid's toys, gym equipment, and whatever else, my basement would now be full of vintage machines. And just like you, I would be sewing on 95+ instead of eight (plus six that could be rotated in). I want a basement!

the decals may be damaged but the sewing machine is not. Clean it up and use it, the 66 is a wonderful machine to piece with. I have 4 of them and use them all the time. Clean it up and let it be what it is and sew sew sew with it.

I'm not sure on the price, but that is in the same cabinet as my 201. I picked it up for $40 at an estate sale maybe 8 years ago? Had no clue what a gem I found. :) Lots of storage in that one!

I don't use it much now just because the built in foot pedal has some issues. I can't quite get the contacts set right so that it either runs by itself or you put the pedal all the way down and it moves like molasses.
