Oh please, do let us know if he replies![/quote]

It has been two days now and no reply. Kathie

Monica, and anyone else with a Two Spools - did you know it drops its feed dogs? Geeze, I was reading the manual because I am still not good at inserting the spool, playing with my National, (which sews perfectly) and I read that you loosen some screws under the feed dogs to drop them or just change the depth! Isn't that cool Monica!!!! I am really stoked over this one! Now I have two treadles I can FMQ with!

Nancy
Nancy, I do remember reading this. I have been so happy just using my machines for piecing that I haven't even given it a thought. But now that you mention this, I pulled out my manual and read the directions. This seems simple to do that I will have to give it a try. Eeks another project on my to do list.

PE uniform- a yellow short dress with yellow short bloomers....so UGLY...that had to be ironed once a week or points were taken off. I hate to iron. Although, I don't mind ironing quilt tops and bottoms.

were they turquoise??? ;)
My one piece was blue.
Mine was red and white striped top with solid red shoprts. Horizontal stripes of course and so very attractive. Luckily, high school had phased out the gym uniform by the time I arrived.
I refuse to describe the swimming suits they made us wear for swimming class.
Mine was a no-shape black nylon.

Is this the machine that was drowned in oil? if so just shake the living crap out of it after warming it up with a hair drier and run it like you stole it! It will smoke and smell but it will go away eventually.

Billy
Nope. I knew better than to do that! It runs fine, so I won't mess with it! I really don't want to do any rewiring of anything. Now that 500 I got for $10 is just a gooey mess inside. I want to clean it out, but am not sure of the solvent that is best on that. Will I have to remove the motor to get the gunk out? I see them for sale on ebay or on youtube and they look like they just came out of the factory inside. How do I achieve even half of that? I have no problem with the really old ones, just these.
I did it on several. Get a little kerosene in a can. Paint it on the internal parts. keep paper towels handy to clean up. If you pull the motor you sure won't get any on it. If you pm me I'll send you my phone number and we can chat.

We are having a rash of the same thing around here. Ridiculous prices on both treadles and elec. Nice red eye in nice cabinet for $750? They obviously haven't done their research. Treadles come out of the woodwork around here.

I don't remember my gym clothes. With my boy's name, I was put into the 7th grade BOYS gym class. The teacher thought it was very funny; I was very embarrased, lol. Tommie

In JR High it was a one piece washed out med. green. In HS a one piece maroon, both were school colors. In college it was a bright yellow shirt with roomy black pants and thin white knee socks. We looked like a bunch of crazed neutron bumble bees. LOL

Tommie, I am so sorry. I would have died of embarrassment in your place. I do remember the uniforms and swimsuits - too awful to describe! Even in college, it continued. Yuk!

the swim suits worked better if you wore a couple of them at a time.
