jlwheart, We need/want comfort when we are upset. It all started when we were babies and a bottle was stuck in our mouths when we cried. Good for you for calmly rechecking your bank account and not eating. I hope you get your machines fixed soon and it's not too expensive. Congrats on your 12 lb loss last month!

Hello, everyone. Either the weather has everyone's lives and computers off kilter or we are just going to be a very small group this month. I currently have 13 on my list.

Jean, Pam is right, for some of us eating the first way we choose to take care of a problem. Congratulations on not overeating. I came in from a meeting where I had to voice opinions several times. I do not handle confrontation well so I came in tired and wanting to eat all kinds of things that aren't a good idea. I had some cottage cheese and walked the dogs. Problem solved. I no longer feel off, just tired. My house is messy again and I hate it. How do I get ahead of it and still sew? Even if I could afford a housekeeper, that wouldn't help with the clutter. Now my Albuquerque GD wants a dress made. How do you refuse a sweet child?

The For Today book talks about "Nothing contributes more to peace of mind than having no opinion at all." "A peaceful soul is more important than having opinions." Uh, not today. Peace of mind sometimes comes with stating an opinion as best you can at the appropriate time and not having parking lot conversations.

This red quilt is getting ridiculous. The back has 770 pieces which I'm sure is more than the front has. When I went ot the LSQ to get 1/2 yard of fabric, I received a handout about a new sale every week. Oh, oh.

I see the dentist tomorrow. The left side of my face won't deaden, so why do I want to go in?

I am losing weight and getting healthier.

Greetings everyone! Congratulations to our winner!

Today was one of those days. I wanted sugar - I ate cabbage instead - maybe I should just have the pastry because it is still sitting there. I made baked spare ribs with cabbage and bacon for supper. I added beans to my plate.

Have may sewing projects here but couldn't get into the mood. Irishrose, I can relate to the house issue. Now that I'm home with Mom all day, I "think" I should have the cleanest house in town. Wrong!!! But the clutter really gets to me so I will have to do something about it tomorrow.

Tonight I got an email that our banking password had been disabled because the user name had been tried 3 times and for our security it was deleted. Neither my DH or I used this account. So then you wonder is this for real or is it a scam. We have now changed things but still those thoughts are there.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day, a gift to be used wisely. So will say good night - prayers for a good night and safe tomorrow for all.

Congratulations jlwheart! That is a great loss for Feb! Wasn't it you who got rid of you cable? Sounds like you put some of your new non tv time to good use!

I eat a lot of carrots so this week's taboo is an easy one for me. I never did post a recipe of any kind for last week & I thought of this one that I eat often for lunch:

1 small whole weat carb balance tortilla (mine are Mission brand) 80 calories
1/4 cup of spicy jalapeno refried beans 60 cal
1/4 cup shredded fat free or low fat cheddar cheese 40 cal

Heat in microwave until cheese melts.
This is a pretty filling little snack or lunch for under 200 calories.

I have been keeping track of my calories on MyFitnessPal on my phone & it is going well. Or I think it is, I will know more when I weigh on Thurs! I have had a crummy cold for the past several days & finally felt well enough to get on the treadmill today. One episode of Gray's Anatomy, 35 minutes 1.5 miles.

Taboo- carrots? Sounds good to me. Today I made beef stew for a neighbor who had hip surgery recently. I wanted to snatch a cooked carrot before I delivered it but couldn't because I'd thickened it with flour. I hope it tastes as good as it smells. I had a heavy hit of anesthetic today so I'm not sure what is in the stew. I had the tooth rebuilt on the side that normally won't deaden. This dentist said she could do it. She did, but I have been groggy for most of the day. Even now after 12 hours, I can't spell or type so excuse any errors. I skipped stoping at the LQS on the way home. They are having sales each week for quilting month. THis week is blenders. I think I'll save my $ for batik week. Some batiks are coming in at $12 or more and that week all will be $8. Do I foresee getting out of bed at a decent time on the first day of the sale?

Jean, I apologize for not congratulating you on your wonderful weight loss. The one time we want to be known as losers.

everose, I just read on the train thread about your mother falling. You are a fabulous daughter to be taking care of her in her time of need. Feel free to talk to us about it anytime. Our lives impact our minds and our minds impact our weight loss , so our lives are part of losing weight. We are all in this together even though we have different things effecting our WL journey. My clutter is my current issue. No headway today, but I did get my tooth taken care of and my weekly dinner with two daughters - though the little one kept telling me how awful I looked.

I just had a nap - beats pain pills, so I'm very awake. I think I will go press quilt blocks. I don't like squaring up HSTs, but they won't do themselves so I may as well get started. Yellow is such a great color for spring. Oh, oh. I haven't mailed my FQ. What is the date?

Maggie, I think I'll join you in My Fitness Pal for a few days. I'm off track and that's a good way to get back on.

I am losing weight and getting healthier.

My goal for March is 10 lbs. I plan to sew a little every day, and if the weather ever straitens out, I got a new puppy and am looking forward to walking him for exercise. My sewing area is upstairs now, so I get some excercise going up and down the stairs. I swim on Monday nights for an hour and I try to do laps til I am too tired. LOL We had a small party store that we closed recently, so I am hoping my life will get back to a little normalcy, what ever that is.. We like to walk and ride our bicycles. I quite often take the bikes when traveling for work. We get there a little early and ride the area. Irish, I remember you, I actually look for your posts as we are so close. It was a two spools up by traverse city that I got. In very good shape, and I cleaned it all up and have used it. I will be in Boyne from Sunday to Thursday this week, I hope to do some "junkin" and if I get near to Caddillac, I will give you a call. If you'd like to PM me your number, that is. We rode our bikes around lake Cadillac one time last year, that was very enjoyable. My daughter is talking about taking the kids to a ski place near there this Sunday. I didn't even know they had one. Well, anyway everyone, good luck with the journey.

Hi all, thanks so much for congrats and support. I love that this is truly one time I don't mind being called a loser. We had 16" snow here last weekend. Finally got dug out yesterday. I could have sewn but ran out of the thread I use so today it's off to Hancocks. Only good part is they have extra discount today for seniors. We get commodities here and today's included huge bags of mixed baby greens. They've been making an effort in their boxes to pay attention to diabetic's food needs. I've gotten fresh plums and several ladies here didn't want theirs so that summer I canned plums and enjoyed them all winter. Those greens are a welcome site. I'm planning on super salads. My recipe this week is:
Pan Fied Chicken w/Tarragon serves 4 1/4= 190 calories, 7 grams fat, 5 grams carbs, 1 gram fiber
Dressing: 2 T fresh lemon juice, 2 T EVOO, 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard & 1/8 tsp kosher salt
Mix together and set aside.
Chicken: 1# chicken tenders (I use breasts sliced into strips), 2 Tbls poultry seasoning, 1 Tbls dried tarragon, crumbled and 1 Tbls dried garlic.
Salad: 8 oz mixed baby greens (8 cups)
Mix the spices together and rub onto the chicken to coat.
Heat nonstick skillet to medium high heat & spray w/cooking spray. Add chicken and lower heat. Saute in med heat until brown Turn and brown about 5 min per side.
Toss salad greens with dressing.
Each serving is 2 cups dressed salad topped with 3-4 tenders on top.
